Why It Matters

The citizens of Hopkinton have continually stepped up make this community the great place it is today. Our generation needs to do the same thing. During the debate about building the new high school the issues of the residents who are negatively impacted by raising taxes and the commitment to continually improve the quality of life in our town rose to the forefront. The Endowment was founded to begin to build a “ savings account” for the town that might, down the road, fund projects and reduce the impact on taxes.

The shift this year from building a general Endowment to funding the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, still fits the mission of the organization. The HCA will contribute to the quality of life in Hopkinton….and the surrounding area!. It will be built with private funds, not add a new tax to citizens. ( Note: The CPA money is a tax we already pay every year). It will serve as members of the community from young to old. And it is an legacy we can leave to future generations to come.
